How Our Awards Work

At The British Hair & Beauty Awards, we celebrate the artistry, dedication, and excellence of the UK’s hair, beauty, spa, and nail industries. Unlike traditional awards, we recognise each business individually, focusing on your achievements and high standards rather than creating direct competition.

Every business is evaluated against clear judging criteria to ensure that only exceptional standards are rewarded. By taking part, you receive personal recognition and ongoing support throughout the process, highlighting the hard work and passion you invest in your business.

Our awards are online only, which means all winners are celebrated through our official social platforms and website. We dedicate time to announcing and promoting every winner individually, giving each business a chance to shine and share their success with clients and followers.

This online approach has been successfully running for over 11 years, allowing us to focus entirely on the recognition you deserve—without the unnecessary costs or formalities of red carpet events. It’s a professional, accessible, and meaningful way to celebrate excellence within the industry.

You can enter at any time throughout the year, and your business will be assessed individually, ensuring you receive the attention, credibility, and recognition that truly reflects your achievements. Online ceremonies are hosted every six weeks, presenting winners in a polished and elegant format across our platforms.


Step-by-Step Process

Stage 1 – Enrolment

  • Businesses may enter at any time throughout the year.

  • Enrolment fee: £19.50 per business, allowing entry into as many categories as you wish, provided all entries are submitted on the same form.

  • After enrolling, you will receive a personalised link to complete your initial submission.

  • Once completed, our team will review your entry within seven working days and notify you if your business has been accepted as a finalist.

  • Entries cannot be considered without a completed submission, so it is essential that the form is returned.

  • Each business is reviewed to ensure it meets the entry criteria. If your business does not meet the requirements, it will not progress to the finalist stage. The enrolment fee is non-refundable.

  • You must ensure the form is returned within four weeks. It is quick and should take approximately 5–15 minutes to complete. Please ensure all questions are answered accurately, as this is essential for your application to be considered.

Stage 2 – Supporting Evidence

  • If accepted as a finalist, you can choose to remain a finalist or progress to be awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze.

  • Participant fee: £79.99 per category (discounts available for multiple categories).

  • Finalists have four weeks to submit detailed supporting evidence along with a PowerPoint presentation. A template will be provided.

  • Judges review the evidence based on criteria including your website, online presence, customer reviews, and advertising platforms to determine your award level.

  • Every finalist who submits all required supporting evidence is guaranteed to receive a winning title of Gold, Silver, or Bronze.

If entering more than one category:

  • Supporting evidence can cover multiple business categories with a single submission.

  • Exceptions: Individual-based categories (for example, Beauty Therapist of the Year, Massage Therapist of the Year, etc.) require separate supporting evidence for each individual entry.

  • All business-based categories (for example, Beauty Salon of the Year, Best Customer Experience, Top Rated Salon of the Year, etc.) can be included in one submission.

Stage 3 – Online Ceremony

  • Winners are announced during bespoke online ceremonies every six weeks.

  • Each ceremony highlights all participating businesses with professional presentations.

Stage 4 – Trophies & Marketing

  • Following the online ceremony, winners may purchase trophies and marketing materials to showcase their achievements online and in their business. Our Online shop will be open from January so you are able to see the trophy and marketing materials pricing before taking part. We aim to keep everything affordable and transparent. There is no hidden fee’s.

  • All presentations, award announcements, and ceremonies are conducted online only

Additional Notes

  • Entries open from 16 January 2026 to 6 December 2026, but businesses may enter anytime.

  • Entry is one admin fee; optional trophies or marketing materials are available to purchase.

  • You may enter more than one category in a year, but not the same winning category. A 12-month gap applies before re-entering the same category.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Special December Ceremony – Multi-Award Winners

  • At the end of the year, a free ceremony recognises the top multi-award-winning businesses.

  • The 10 highest-performing businesses who have won multiple awards and achieved the highest scores across all categories are selected.

  • Winners receive a multi-award recognition certificate.
