Competition Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 2025

By entering The British Hair and Beauty Awards (“the Competition”), you (“the Entrant”) agree to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full. Entry into the Competition constitutes your acceptance of these Terms, together with our Shop Terms and Conditions, which collectively form the full agreement between you and Luxe Creative Media (the “Organiser”).

1. Changes to Terms

The Organiser reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will take immediate effect once published on our website. Entrants are responsible for reviewing this page regularly to ensure they are familiar with the most current version.

2. Eligibility

The Competition is open to all hair and beauty businesses based within the United Kingdom.
Entrants from outside the UK are not eligible.

The Organiser reserves the absolute right to reject, disqualify, or remove any entry deemed inappropriate, incomplete, or in breach of these Terms.

3. Entry and Fees

  • To enter, an enrolment fee of £12.50 per business is required.

  • One enrolment fee allows you to enter multiple categories under the same business name.

  • The entry fee is non-refundable, and no cooling-off period applies under UK competition regulations.

Upon payment, you will receive a link to submit your business details. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed within seven (7) working days. Please note that not all applicants will be shortlisted as finalists.

4. Finalist Selection and Participation Fees

If shortlisted, you will be notified via email and invited to participate as a Finalist in the Competition.

Finalist Options:

  • You may choose to remain a Finalist only, in which case you will receive a digital finalist badge.

  • If you wish to receive a Finalist Certificate, this can be purchased separately from our online store for £25.00.

Participant Fee:

To progress further in the Competition and be eligible for a Gold, Silver, or Bronze award, you must pay the Participant Fee of £79.99 per category.
Discounted bundle options are available for multiple category entries via our online store.

After payment of the Participant Fee:

  • You will receive a link to submit your Supporting Evidence Form.

  • You must complete and submit this within four (4) weeks of receiving the link.

  • No extensions or deadline changes will be permitted under any circumstances.

Failure to submit your supporting evidence by the deadline means you will remain a Finalist only and will not be judged.
Participant Fees are non-refundable, regardless of submission status or competition outcome.

5. Supporting Evidence and Judging Criteria

All judging is based solely on the quality and credibility of the supporting evidence submitted. The judging criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • Business excellence

  • Client retention

  • Innovation

  • Customer service

  • Professionalism

Upgrading or paying the Participant Fee does not guarantee a win.

Judges may, at their discretion, request additional information or clarification. Entrants must respond within three (3) working days of such a request. Failure to comply may result in:

  • Disqualification from the Competition

  • Withdrawal of finalist or winner status

  • Reallocation or downgrading of awards

  • Removal from category listings

All judging decisions are final and binding. No correspondence, discussion, or appeal will be entered into.

6. Winners and Awards

Winners will be announced during the online awards ceremony.
Certificates will be dispatched within 1–4 weeks of the ceremony.
Trophies and additional marketing materials may be purchased separately through our online store.

All awards, certificates, and trophies are custom-made and personalised. For this reason, they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once ordered.

7. Refund Policy

All payments (including enrolment, participant, and upgrade fees) are non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Withdrawal from the Competition

  • Failure to submit supporting evidence

  • Disqualification or downgrade of award status

8. Conduct and Behaviour

The Organiser operates a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, disrespectful, or harassing behaviour towards staff, judges, or fellow participants.
Such behaviour will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from future competitions.

All judging results are final and cannot be challenged.

9. Entry Responsibilities

Entrants are solely responsible for ensuring all entry forms, supporting evidence, and materials are submitted correctly and on time.
The Organiser accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, incomplete, or otherwise not received due to technical or communication issues.

10. Data Protection

Personal data will be handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
Your information will only be used for the administration of this Competition and related marketing communications, where consent has been provided.
We do not share personal data with third parties without consent.

11. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property, including but not limited to logos, branding, certificates, and promotional materials, remains the property of the Organiser.
Entrants may not reproduce, alter, or commercially use any Competition materials without prior written consent.
Unauthorised use may result in disqualification, legal action, or a financial penalty.

12. Use of Photos and Marketing Material

By entering the Competition, you grant the Organiser permission to use your business name, photographs, and supporting materials for marketing and publicity purposes.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have obtained consent from any individuals appearing in the imagery you provide.

13. Complaints Procedure

All complaints must be submitted via email to help@thebritishbeautyawards.co.uk.

Complaint Categories and Response Times:

  • General or administrative complaints – acknowledged within 5 working days; response within 15 working days.

  • Competition result-related complaints – acknowledged within 5 working days; response within 20 working days.

  • Delivery or courier-related complaints – investigations may take up to 45 working days, depending on third-party response times.

14. Payment Plans

The Organiser may offer interest-free payment options through Klarna, a third-party provider regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
By choosing Klarna, you enter into a separate agreement governed by Klarna’s own terms and conditions.

Private payment plans offered directly by the Organiser must be honoured according to the agreed schedule. Failure to make timely payments may result in:

  • Immediate disqualification or withdrawal of awards

  • Revocation of titles or certificates

  • Legal action for recovery of outstanding amounts or goods

Any goods supplied before full payment remains the property of the Organiser until payment is received in full.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in relation to any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms.
